Hi there,
It looks like your blog fortheloveofpeteblog.wordpress.com is loading correctly now at fortheloveofpete.co. If you’re still having trouble, it could be a browser-related issue. Can you try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies? Instructions can be found here:
en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
Please let me know if the page is still loading incorrectly!
Cheers,
Jeremey

Hi Jeremy,
Can I ditch this domain address all together? I started a new one 4theloveofpete.com as I was confused with the original .co & .wordpress.com addresses. -
Hi Helen,
On my end, I see a refund was already issued for the private registration of the domain fortheloveofpete.co. Just to confirm, you no longer want that domain correct? If so, I’ll remove it from your account and issue a refund. This means that someone else may purchase the domain, and there is no guarantee you will be able to get it back in the future. If you’re okay with that, please let me know.
Going forward, it looks like 4theloveofpete.com is set-up on fortheloveofpeteblogdotcom.wordpress.com. Currently, it looks like everything is working correctly with that domain on that blog. Please note, all of your contact is managed through fortheloveofpeteblogdotcom.wordpress.com. Did you have any questions about setting that domain up?
Best,
Jeremey

Hi Jeremey,
I think I have completely confused myself with the two blogs. Moving forward I’m going to keep ‘fortheloveofpete.co’ but can you reverse the refund that went through recently for this blog address? It was around $8.45 ?
-
Forgot to mention that I’m going to buy the theme ‘elemin’ for the site fortheloveofpete.co
Is there anything else I need to purchase at the same time to secure my rights to this blog address? -
Hi Helen,
I can’t reverse the refund, but this was for the private registration. You did not lose the domain registration. You should be able to re-add the private registration through this link:
https://fortheloveofpeteblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades
Just click “Add Private Registration” on the right-hand side. This hides your registration details from the public domain information.
To your other question, no, there is nothing else you need to do to secure fortheloveofpete.co. It’s currently set-up as the primary domain on fortheloveofpeteblog.wordpress.com. If you decide that you do not want 4theloveofpete.com, please let me know, and I can help to remove it from your account!

Hi Jeremy,
I did see the “Add private registration” but it is for an additional @$25 and thought it was different to what I accidentally cancelled which was only @$9. Is there any reason for the large gap in price variation? Also is it possible to keep the domain name and private address for the blog 4theloveofpete.com but credit the premium upgrade as I thought it would give me access to all premium themes and not just the Pilcrow theme which I’m not happy with.
I’m still undecided as to which domain name I will eventually keep, so I would like to hang onto both for the time being.
Thanks. -
Hi Helen,
The Private Registration should only cost an additional A$9.00. When I click the link to add the private registration from your Upgrades page here, it only appears as A$9.00 (screenshot here). Is this still displaying differently for you?
I have refunded the cost of the Premium upgrade minus the domain registration for 4theloveofpete.com. Please note, it may take several days before the funds are available on your account. Your domain registration is still intact. Just a note, the Premium bundle does not include access to all of the Premium themes. It does, however, include the No Ads upgrade, Space Upgrade, and Custom Design upgrade alongside others as seen here:
http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/pro-bundle/
Premium themes are often times designed by outside designers (not through WordPress), which is why they are not included in the Premium bundle.
Let me know about the Private Registration upgrade!

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for clarify those issues for me. I think it’s best to cancel ‘fortheloveofpete.co’ and I’ll stick with the other domain site. Having the two has been a bit confusing.
I’ve chosen the Elemin premium theme so I can purchase that myself. Will I still need to purchase separate upgrades for no ads, extra space and custom design or can I deal with that later as the site develops?
There are a few things I would need to change in the Elemin theme via CSS. Does the premium cost include that? -
Hi Helen,
So, just to confirm, you would like to cancel fortheloveofpete.co and keep 4theloveofpete.com? Just as a thought, it is possible to combine them onto a single blog so that if your readers type in 4theloveofpete.com or fortheloveofpete.co, they will be directed to the same blog.
As far as customizing the Elemin theme, if you want to customize the CSS, you will need to purchase the Custom Design upgrade described here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
As for the other upgrades (No Ads, Space upgrade, etc), you can certainly wait to purchase those at a later time. The Custom Design upgrade is only needed if you want to change the CSS. If you would like to use the Elemin theme as it comes out of the box, that upgrade is not needed.
Let me know how you would like to proceed with the domains!
-
Hi Jeremy,
I don’t mind combining the two domain names as long as the main address in the browser is 4theloveofpete.com
I noticed there are other blog sites that use fortheloveofpete.com and figured it someone was looking for my blog @.co they might be directed elsewhere. But if you think this is a better way to go then I’m happy to combine the two. Is that mapping? Also is there an additional charge for that?In regards to the Elemin theme I will want to change the template so when I purchase the theme it is cheaper to purchase the Elemin theme and the bundle together of no ads, space and custom design? Otherwise if the cost is the same I can purchase the additional when I need it.
Thanks again for you help, It’s difficult to get my head around all this!

Hi Helen,
So, the main address in the browser would be 4theloveofpete.com. You could just transfer the domain fortheloveofpete.co from it’s currently blog to 4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com. That way, when visitors go to either 4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com or fortheloveofpete.co, they will be directed to 4theloveofpete.com. Does that make sense?
This can be done following the steps here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgrades
Just transfer fortheloveofpete.co from fortheloveofpeteblog.wordpress.com to 4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com. That way, both domains and all content would be managed through 4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com. If you would like me to do this for you, just let me know.
In regards to the upgrades, if you plan on purchasing the Elemin theme and making customizations, here are the options:
1. Purchase Elemnin theme and Custom Design upgrade which would give you full control over fonts, colors, custom CSS, etc. That would be $145 (Elemin $115 + Custom Design $30)
2. Purchase Elemin theme and Premium plan which would give you the Custom Design plus all of the others seen here. That would be $194 ($115 + $79 for Premium bundle – discounted since you already have the domain upgrade).
The discount in option #2 for the Premium bundle is available any time up until 45 days from the expiration of your domain upgrade (so until roughly 9/25/14).
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding any or all of the information!

Hi Jeremy,
Would you mind doing the transfer of fortheloveofpete.co to 4theloveofpete.com? As straight forward as it seems, I’m sure I will muck something up!
Thanks for explaining the upgrade/bundle – I’m sure I can work myself through this one myself.
You have helped me through all my queries, thank you again. Once the transfer is complete I should be able to tackle the rest on my own. – Case closed!!

Hi Helen,
All of your domains are now currently listed under 4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com. You can set the primary address (the one that all of the others will direct to) here:
https://4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Currently, that is set to 4theloveofpete.com.
If you would like to delete the extra blog on your account (fortheloveofpeteblog.wordpress.com), you can do so by following the steps here (since all of your content is managed through 4theloveofpetedotcom.wordpress.com):
Let me know if you have any questions!
