blog address problem

  Hi there, I am trying to use a name for a blog address that the systems says that the site already exists but when I access to it from the browser it says that the authors have deleted the blog. Maybe it was a problem in the creation and it’s standing in the limbo… where can I ask this to WordPress check it? I don’t see any address for this technical issues… Thanks!

  it says that the authors have deleted the blog.

  Gone is gone forever – even from the original owner – blog names are never recycled at WordPress.COM – you can choose a name that is close or purchase a domain name and map it to your blog – then the base blog does not matter

  As auxclass says, deleted blog URLs here are not recycled and no exceptions are made. That’s why 3 warnings are given and why a verification link in an email that must be clicked is sent in order to accomplish deletion.

  You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  Thanks both for the reply.

  I see, then I don’t have any option with this name. I am not sure if this is a good idea, the forever miss name for a deleted blog. Probably it would be better to disable for a time (for example 1 or 2 months), and then alive it again because maybe another people want to use it for any good purpose. It’s difficult to understand, if there is no legal reasons…

  No legal reason – but what if you had a very G rated family blog you shared with your family and friends – then you deleted it and I pick the name up – but I put a bunch of nude pictures on it and your aunt Ethel or Grandmother visited the site and thought you had went crazy –

  haha yes, it can happen… but is the same in the reality for example with a house. if you sell it and nothing says to your aunt then she can arrive at the new house converted in a brothel and a nude girl can open the door to her, but the solution is not disintegrate and destroy the building, but advise all the people about that…. anyway, is not the great trouble, just that I don´t see a great point doing that. I still like WordPress :)
