Blog Address Registration to "no longer available" address

  Hi, sorry for my bad English, but I am interested to register a blog with this address:

  gcastro.wordpress.com

  but, when I go to create a blog whit this address, I have EVER an error because this address already exist.
  If, in my browser go to http://gcastro.wordpress.com I see that “gcastro.wordpress.com is no longer available”

  Why I have this situation ?

  At some point that was a registered WordPress subdomain that has since been deleted by the author. And once a URL is deleted, it’s off-limits forever.

  If you were really interested in the name (or a derivative of it), you could try to buy the domain (if it’s available) and map it to your blog.
