Blog address taken

  Hello,

  I’ve just signed up to Word Press as I want to start writing a blog. When I typed in my desired blog address it told me that this had already been taken. However, when I visited the blog address which was apparently already taken it appears that it is being used as an example of what a WordPress blog would look like. It says “Nothing Found
  It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”

  And under the “About” section it says: This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many pages like this one or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress.

  How can I contact WordPress to access the blog address I want!

  There is no expiration date on blogs that have been registered, unused or reserved or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog via a contact form or commenting on the blog itself, then providing the owner is agreeable, there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
