Thanks!!

To be crystal clear on this blog are not owned by companies, projects, organizations, etc. The blog is owned by the person who registered a username account and then registered the blog under that username account. Admin information is private and Staff will not provide it to you.
You must contact the owner of the blog and request they transfer it. They must add another username account to the blog you wish to transfer to that account and make the username account an Admin of the blog

timethief, thanks, that is helpful.
though, would WP contact the owner and ask them to contact me? I understand that they wouldn’t relinquish information, as that could make them liable for a confidentiality breach, but my problem is that I don’t know WHO of our many past interns set up the webpage promoting our org.
thanks!!

I’m sorry but Staff will not do that. The responsibility lies with you to determine who the blog owner is and contacting them directly yourself.

Leave a comment on the blog – maybe they have comments set to Moderate and will get an email (if it is still active)
Look at when the blog was created (first or early Posts) – ask HR or payroll which interns worked for you around that time
Call all your interns for the past many years
Send an email to everyone in the company (or the office) and ask them if they remember who did what
