I recently came across a Forum poster who was concerned about the really long length of the standard footer that appears in all WordPress sites.
Here’s the change I’d like to see: Create with WordPress. No dotcom, but of course linked to the home page. Then the linked Theme name.
The sentence at the foot of each webpage when we are in Edit mode in our sites on WordPress says : Thanks for creating with WordPress.com.
I thought it would be a logical step to shorten that footer text to my suggestion. We don’t only create blogs on WordPress. We also create wonderful websites as well!
How about it, guys! So simple!! :O)

Great idea and in addition to that, it is not necessary to mention the theme name, I hope wordpress accept to fix this. I have a a premium website, and it shows in the footer “blog at wordpress followed by the theme name”.
You are right, it’s so simple.

@alguzlan: I have noticed on all websites I’ve visited in my nine odd years of blogging and visiting other sites that there is always, somewhere on the site, a hint as to who created the site and/or a Theme template name.
I’m of the view that having those two items, usually in a site footer, is a very small price to pay for not having advertisements on one’s site, especially as, like you, I’m a Premium Theme user. To that is about marketing and also acknowledging that there is no such thing as a ‘free lunch’ in life, if you understand my drift.
But thank you for your support of this idea. I hope it goes ahead.
