Hello I cannot fathom how to change something.
My blog author name is wrong and out of date, when I click on an individual post that I have written, and then click on my name, it takes me to author archives, and the website address mentions my old blog name, which I have deleted. How can I get it to say in any weather or similar? i have tried looking in settings and so on.

You’ve evidently changed your publicly displayed name, but not your username. See the instructions on the Change Your Username support page.
When you change your username, you should see the change reflected in your author archives.

Thanks for replying to my question, I have checked my username and publicly displayed name settings, which are right. i don’t want to change my username as that is up to date and is relevant to my current blog, also my publicly displayed name is correct, its just that in the author archives if I click on a post , then my name, it still says (my old blog name) in the website address bar, as for hunch 2 you could be right, I don’t understand why as I have deleted that blog over a year ago but maybe I imported over a couple of posts from it, when i first started this blog, i cant remember. I have just written a new post, which still has the old blog title -2 as the archive website address, Its quite puzzling!

You verified your Username at Account Settings? You may also be using it to log into the account.
My author archive shows my Username, which is different than the publicly displayed name.
publicly displayed name: doc
author archive URL: http://website URL/author/musicdoc1/That’s why it appears that your present username is what you are referring to as “my old blog name,” perhaps with a number attached at the end of it.

My old blog name is not my current user name, my old blog name may have been my user name for wordpress once but not for at least a year or for my current blog ever. I joined wordpress and started blogging but I deleted that blog and then changed my user name to my current user name over a year ago and started my new blog. my user name corresponds to my current blog title and web address. I hope that makes sense.

Yes, perfect sense. I wasn’t doubting you. Just describing what it indicates in my experience. This will likely require Staff Attention. I may have forgotten to add the tag before. Just did so now.

I have just noticed also if I click on ‘member’ underneath my user name on these forums (just left of these words) it takes me to my forum profile. The link or permalink in the website address box also shows my old user name there as well.
