  is there any way to get a backup of my blog? would using the export feature work?

  WordPress.com is relentless in keeping our blogs backed many times a day and redundant across many servers, so it isn’t something you need to be too concerned about. That being said, keeping a local copy of your blog is not a bad thing if you don’t do it all the time using the Export function! Many do it :)

  if i use the export function, wouldnt that remove all the posts?

  The export function just creates a file with all your entries, but does nothing to the entries themselves. The only way to remove entries is delete them or your blog.
