Blog charges.

I received an email saying that one of my blogs will be renewed automatically on for £22.00. I was under the impression that it was a free service and don’t wish to pay for it. Does WordPress no longer have free blogs, and will all my other WordPress blogs be charged if I don’t cancel them? Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Automattic Inc. https://automattic.com/ owns WordPress.com and other products like Akismet and VaultPress, etc. so this could be a charge related to one of them. It’s important to know that each charge is sent to the registered email address for each username account, so if you have more than one username account that could be confusing you. If you have a wordpress.org account and a wordpress.com account that could be confusing you.

Are you referring to a specific website? If so then what is the exact URL starting with http:// of the site you refer to please?

  • Hi there,

I don’t see any upgrades in the account you’re using to post here. Do you perhaps have a different username on WordPress.com as well? If you can provide the email address at which you received the notification I can check on that for you.

The amount you’re citing is for a custom domain upgrade. Did you perhaps register a custom domain for one of your sites at some point?
