I would like to get a separate e-mail for each person who leaves a comment on my site instead of getting a ‘digest’ with multiple comments. Is this possible?

I have no idea at all what is meant by ” a ‘digest’ with multiple comments” and this thread is tagged for a Staff response. Please be patient while waiting. Hi there,
Your site is currently set to send you an email with each new comment. Since multiple comments on the same post will contain the same subject and sender some email clients may group the message. Is that what you mean by digest?
If so, we don’t have a solution on our end at this time but perhaps you may make a change in your email client to not tread our messages.
If you’re asking about something else let us know and we’ll take a look.

I get single e-mails with comments from different people, which makes it confusing when I reply separately to both of them through the one e-mail I received. They are comments on the same page, but I doubt they’re at the same time, and they certainly aren’t just from one user.

Currently WordPress.com does not have a comment digest function like you are describing. I think what may be happening is you are getting “threaded” comments in your email client which is grouping the messages together appearing as a digest.
If you don’t mind, could you upload a screenshot (removing any personal information) to your media library then reply back and we’ll take a look to confirm this is the case?
