Blog Content Disappeared
-
My blog (free) content has disappeared. It was there this past weekend, but is now gone. Comments from the posts are still visible, but the posts are gone. If I go into the dashboard, I can see the posts in the editor but they are not displayable to the public.
I am assuming this is a WordPress issue since it is a free site.
Is anyone else encountering this issue?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @jbhall1956
Redoable Lite has been retired for a very long time and it’s quite possible that a recent update to the WordPress.com platform broke the blog page. Retired themes are generally updated only for security issues.
Have you tried previewing your site in a different theme to see if the posts appear? If they do, you’ll want to consider changing to a newer theme. I’d suggest a Classic theme that has a sidebar which will give you close to what you have now. However, once you activate another theme, you won’t be able to return to Redoable Lite.
Before doing that, another thing to check are Content Options in the Customizer to see if something is either stuck or became unstuck. Have a look there check and uncheck different options and see if your posts reappear.
Regardless, post back here and let us know how that goes.

I have exactly the same problem and I cant ever realize that a theme is retired. Why that? Is this an old man we are talking about? In my sidelines i have hundred of links and none of the free classic themes can support such sideline. So we have to destroy it all? Please help, very sad about it. My site is http://pandoxeio.com in wordpress from 2008

@pandoxeio a theme is retired because it’s no longer compatible just as Windows 95 has been retired and replaced by windows 11. Or do you still use wordperfect 0.1?
Belief me, nobody gonna scroll through a sidebar with more than 100 links. Also that theme is almost unreadable on a phone, because it’s not responsive at all. Nothing has been destroyed, you just have a choose a recent theme to make your site up-to-date.
-
And how can one be sure if the new theme he chooses won’t “retire” after some months?
About the sidebar with many links, since we talk about it, all my readers have told me that it is very useful to them because it is much more tiring to scroll down 50 pages to see back posts, than just check one of the sidebar.

Every theme will be retired some day, so that’s a non-argument. There are several other solutions to let people scroll through your posts, e.g. the Calendar Widget – https://wordpress.com/support/widgets/calendar-widget/

I have exactly the same problem
Hi @pandoxeio I’m not sure I understand. Did you switch away from Redoable Lite or K2 Lite recently?
In my sidelines i have hundred of links and none of the free classic themes can support such sideline.
Your site is currently using Colinear, which is a free Classic Theme available in our theme showcase and it looks like it works well with your current blogroll (which you can also add to a Page using copy/paste to a List or the Display Posts shortcode). You can continue to use Colinear as long as it works. But as @staartmees mentioned, there may come a day when the theme breaks because of a WordPress.com update or the theme itself is retired.
The only way to “future proof” your site is by choosing a more recent theme that has features you need, like a sidebar.

Yes, I turned to Colinear because it was an urgent matter. After some considerable search and themes testing, it seems more close to the Redoable. Thanks for the feedback.

Your instructions worked just fine and my blog is again viewable.
Thanks for the assistance.

Dear Staartmees I don’t think this is a suitable parallelism because w95 retired to transform to something better. On the contrary, some retired theme into what is it transformed? To something deather? Anyway, merry Christmas to everybody!
