blog creation

I have created a blog and when my website loads the blog is there in front of me but not there when I select my ‘blog’ menu. When I select my ‘blog’ menu from my website it displays the original setup message ‘This is the page where users will find your sites blog’ and there is a reply text box underneath but there is no reply text box under my actual blog that appears on startup of my website. Also my contact page shows my private details in each of the boxes. Can anyone help with these issues? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

You have to configure your pages to show what you want. In your Blog page, if you want to show your posts, you have to configure a Posts Page, to do this please check the link below:

    https://cjones567.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

At your Contact page you have a Contact Form, so when the user opens this page, their information will fill automatically in the text boxes if he is connected to WordPress.com.

    Regards.

Hi, thank you for your help. I have now created the posts page and my first blog appears in there and my home page appears on startup of the website. Great! The only issue I have now is that although I am configuring the blog page to allow comments I don’t get a ‘Leave Reply’ text box at the end of the blog post . I have been configuring this by viewing the blog post, then selecting ‘edit’ and on the side menu under ‘…more options’ there’s a discussion section where I selected the boxes for both ‘Allow comments’ and ‘Allow Pingbacks & Trackbacks. What am I doing wrong? Thanks again!

I’ve made a test on your post and I’ve been able to leave a comment on the footer of your post on a Leave a Reply section.

I can’t see your comment when I login to my website ?

Sorry, I just read your reply again and realise that I won’t see your comment as you just created a test. I still can’t see a comment box at the end of my post and I got my son to login too and he can’t see a comment box . Could you login to the real post and see if you can add a comment? Thanks again!

Sure, I added two comments on your site.

Hi Daniel, I saw your comments thanks. Can you let me know how you are viewing my blog and where you entered the comments? My husband went to my blog in his browser (internet explorer) and there was no comment box on my blog page so he added a comment via the Home page. I have added a message at the bottom of my blog to do the same if the reader can’t see a comment box as a workaround for now. We still don’t see a comment box at the end of my blog post. Thanks!

    Hi there!

Maybe the problem is, in your Blog Page you can’t leave comments, because comments are for posts. On the link below you’ll be able to see how I made comments on your post, not in your Blog Page.

Oh that’s really interesting! When you select the title of the blog the link changes to ‘date’/first-blog-post rather that /blog and the reply text box appears! Who would know to do that!

What’s strange is that there are comments text boxes on the home/about/comment pages. Still don’t understand why they are there and not on the blog page!?

Thanks though Daniel, you have been very helpful!

I found it, the Posts Page, in your case, the blog page, cannot have a comments area even you setting up to have it. It occurs because the comments will be inside each post.

All pages can have a comments area, except the Posts Page.

Sorry for my delay to find the real issue.
