blog deactivated – now what?
-
My blog was deactivated, and I’ve contacted the staff by following the link on the warning message and also emailed them. It’s been over a day and I haven’t heard back.
I’ve seen several WordPress blogs similar to mine, so I thought since they were up and running with no problem mine would be okay. But as one of your volunteers said, that is not a good defense if I’m still violating your terms, and I apologize.
So I’m trying to figure out my next step. I saw this recommendation to another person whose blog was deactivated:
“You’ll be much better off to get an export file of the blog and buy some external webspace in which to run WordPress software from WordPress.org. Then you don’t have those Terms of Service restrictions at all.”
QUESTION: Is that the only way I can continue running WordPress software, by switching to WordPress.org? Or if I use DreamHost or iPage, will I still be able to use WordPress software?
Thanks so much for any help you can give me. I am very sorry for not following the rules.

You will have to wait for staff to get back to you.
If your blog does not fit the terms of service here, then your only course of action will be to self-host a blog somewhere like dream host or godaddy using he software from wordpress.ORG.
Also check your spam filter at your ISP. Sometimes the wordpress emails get caught there.

Nothing in my spam filter. Frustrating. But thank you so much for responding, sacredpath.

I answered you yesterday in the other closed thread that Staff also posted into. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/my-blog-was-deactivated-please-help?replies=5#post-547975 Posting another forum thread here does nothing when it comes to moving your issue up in Staff’s queue. All it does is make us Volunteers parrot the same thing over again and get our Moderators to close the thread. :(

any idea how long it usually takes to get a reply from staff? I just don’t know whether to take steps now to move to wordpress.org or wait a few more days to hear. thanks for your help.

We are supposed to simply state what we have previously stated and post no more. :(
So if you were attempting to market ANY product or service that is not personally created by YOU (no reselling or reatiling poducts made by others – no driving traffic to 3rd party sites) that’s a “no go” here at wordpress.com. In that case you can read this entry closely and see what to do next.
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/It amounts to hiring a web host. Setting up a wordpress.ORG install and exporting the content out of the wordpress.COM blog into the wordpress.ORG install.
