Blog deletion and/or transfer

I have tried to transfer my blog paulgurney.wordpress.com and have named it Business Catalyst in the hope of moving it all to my blog at http://www.caricaturesandportraits.co.uk I am not sure I have done it correctly. If I have done it wrong, which is very likely, I would like it taken down off the internet please as I don’t want duplication. I have the words and can republish the images again in BC. Can you take it don please and send me the blogs or just take it done. Thanks Paul

I don’t see a duplicate of your posts on your new site (http://www.caricaturesandportraits.co.uk/) or at http://businesscatalyst.wordpress.com/ so your guess that the transfer didn’t work as you had hoped may be correct. If you’d like to export the content of paulgurney.wordpress.com so it will be easy to upload elsewhere I recommend following the export instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
After that you should be able to import the content into the new site. It doesn’t look like your new site runs WordPress, so you’ll have to talk to your site designer/developer about how to import the content.
As for removing the content from paulgurney.wordpress.com, you can do that yourself by following the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
If you’d rather have a staff member take care of it for you, they can do so. I’ll mark this thread for staff assistance so they’ll know you need their help.
The first thing they will ask is for you to confirm which site you want emptied, and to confirm that you understand the content cannot be recovered once it’s removed, so if you’d like to save a little time, you could respond to this thread with that info before they stop by.

Thank you for the reply! I have transferred the blog and that is not reversible I understand. I was hoping to export it but got that wrong, nevermind. I seem not to have anything in my blog control panel as it is gone but still on line. I want the content taken down. I am afraid I am a beginner on WP. Would be good to keep the space and domain though incase I need it again but the content of that blog I am not interested in keeping. Is there a form for me to manage it myself or do I need help. The site content I want removed is at paulgurney.wordpress.com. Thanks! I’d rather not pay anything though :-)

Hi Paul,
You transferred the blog to a new owner here at WordPress.com, which is why you no longer had access to it. I’ve transferred it back to your WordPress.com account as it sounds like that’s not what you meant to do.
If you’d like to export the blog, you can do that under Tools > Export in the site’s dashboard.
When you’re done, if you no longer want the site up at WordPress.com you can delete it permanently under Tools > Delete Site in the site’s dashboard.
