Blog described as private on Facebook even though settings are public

Hey,
i have chosen the following concerning the visibility of my site: allow search engines to index this site.However when I want to link the blog or a post to Facebook it tells me that my blog is private and that you have to login to read it.
Did I miss some specific settings?

Oh btw. when I publicize a post directly via WordPress it works. :(

Your blog was private initially and then you made it public. Facebook has not cleared their cache and that is the issue. It is not a wordpress.COM issue.

Facebook has some sort of crazy caching that we can’t control. It sounds like your blog was private when you shared it before. Now, when you attempt to share again, it’s just digging into its cache for the same description.
I know this sounds weird, but you’ll need to ask a friend who has never shared one of your posts before to share a post. This will kick Facebook’s cache back in gear. The only other know alternative is to wait for it to clear out on its own in about a week.
