blog display

When one of my email followers opens the email on a MAC desktop, it displays as on a phone (with narrow segments of photos) rather than as a full desktop display; they also can’t click on a photo to get full-size display.
When I preview my posts & pages, the desktop display works fine. I can’t see anything I can change in Settings to correct this. Please advise.
    Thanks.

  • Hi there,

I’m not sure I understand since it’s not possible for us to see the contents of your email. Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing (on your desktop) so we can understand the issue?

To share a screenshot with us, you can upload it to the Media Library on your site, and then copy the image URL. You can see a video of how to do this here: https://d.pr/v/Fcnerp

Once you have the image URL just paste it into your reply and we will be able to see your screenshot, thanks!

On a full desktop screen, it appears just as it appears on a phone, with white space on either side – it is the “Mobile” display, rather than the “Desktop” display.
You can’t click on each photo to see the entire photo. I placed the photos in the blog “page” using a “Gallery” block.
    Thanks.

  • This looks like a display issue with their email app. Do you know if this is happening to other email subscribers of yours?

My sister reads these on her PC desktop and her iPhone and the display is fine.
My husband reads them on MAC desktop (2017 running iOs 10.14.6) and iPhone SE.
When he forwarded them to me, I have the same display issue on the MAC but it displays fine on my iPhone 13.

So the concern is MAC desktop display and iPhone SE display. Thanks.

The iPhone SE is currently a six-year-old device, so there’s not much we can do to affect the display of emails on that device. It’s likely the device is not compatible with modern website technologies and it won’t display things properly – especially when other iPhone devices seem to show them properly.

Regarding the MacOS version, the current version is 12.6, so the same issue may be applied here with the Mail program in that OS version. Again, we have no control over how different mail programs behave, so there’s not much we can do here to affect the issue.

Let us know if you have any questions.
