Blog does not save changes – help!
-
This happens quite often, but when I hit save, none of the changes I’ve updated appear at the blog. Talk about frustrating! It happens sporadically so I never know if all the work I’ve done will be saved. Help!

I think you are using Windows, so to keep this from happening, I would suggest an offline blog client like Windows Live Writer or BlogDesk. Timethief has done a great post on her wordpress resources blog at http://islandtimethief.wordpress.com/2007/10/26/offline-blog-editors-reviews/
This keeps a copy of your posts on your hard drive and Live Writer and BlogDesk are free.

Thanks, I will check that out.. I am relatively new to WordPress and some of the technical stuff is greek to me! I was just wondering if there was a shortcut to fix the problem, but alas as in life, sometimes there are no shortcuts.

It’s hard to say what is happening. I’ve noticed on my self-hosted blog that things are kind of erratic when saving posts and such, so it could be there are some internet problems. Who knows, but Live Writer and BlogDesk are cheap peace of mind.

I did what you suggested in my other related question (about switching between visual and codes) and I ran Firefox. Wow! With just that one difference, a page that for the life of me I could not get to save any changes, was now doing so with ease. Thanks a bunch, sacred, I never would have thought it was my browser that was the issue!!!

@milliepip
Glad to hear it. IE seems to be sort of flakey sometimes. The other thing to keep in mind if it happens again, is to do the cache and cookie dance. Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cookies and cache and then log back in and try again. Sometimes that solves the problems.Happy blogging.
