Blog doesn’t show second page

My blog (https://nelltyler.com/my-blog/) used to let me click ‘Next Page’ to show the remainder of my posts. Now, when I do, it leads to a page with my blog header and just the Subscribe button.

I just had to fix an issue where my blog wasn’t showing up at all, and the link just lead to my main page – I had to turn my blog into my main page and then switch it back to a static page with a dedicated blog page before it turned up again.

Then when I went to my blog, I noticed I couldn’t go to the second page. There are six posts showing – I checked the settings, and it said that ten posts were visible, despite not showing ten. I changed it to six, tried again with no changes, back to ten, no changes.

I’m at a loss. I’ve just gotten back into writing after being really unwell, and sorting this nonsense out is the last thing I wanted to do. I don’t really understand the problem, because it was never like this, and I hadn’t changed any settings since it worked perfectly previously.

I’m including a screenshot of the actual number of blog posts, so that you can see how many there are meant to be, as opposed to how many actually show up if you visit my blog. There are a couple in drafts, but the ones that have been published are not showing up on that second page.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @nelltyler,

I completely understand how disheartening it must feel to run into this after getting back into writing. I’ve taken a close look at your blog and can definitely help clear this up.

I checked your blog page here: https://nelltyler.com/my-blog/, and here’s what I currently see: https://snipboard.io/oICDHY.jpg.

I’m not seeing any posts or a subscribe button on that page, which I know isn’t what you’re expecting.

Digging into your settings, I noticed that your blog page “Sometimes, I have big thoughts” is set as your Posts page in your Reading Settings. When a page is selected as the Posts page, it automatically overrides the page content and applies a default template layout.

To fix this, here’s what to do:

    1. Head to your Reading Settings.
    2. Under “Posts page,” change it from “Sometimes, I have big thoughts” to – Select – (essentially setting it to none).
    3. Click Save Changes.

Once that’s done, the actual content of that page will reappear, and all your 11 published posts should show up correctly. If you’re still not seeing all posts after clicking “Next Page,” let me know, and I’ll take another look.

Also, on your current plan, you have access to 24/7 direct support, so feel free to contact us anytime instead of posting in forums. You can reach us using these steps: How to Contact Us.

Let me know how it goes and if you need help with anything else!
