  If I delete my blog, what is going to happen with my domain .com?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Raquel,

  You will not be able to delete your site as long as the custom domain is attached to it. You have several options going forward:

  • Make it private so that other users won’t be able to visit the site. You’ll still be able to access the Dashboard to get to the domain manager.
  • Transfer the domain to another WordPress.com site on your account by going to Store → My Upgrades, and clicking the “Transfer to Another Site” link. You’ll then be able to manage the domain through that site’s dashboard.
  • Transfer the domain to another user
  • I can remove the domain from your account if you no longer want it. Please note, it will be sent back to the registrar and there is no guarantee you will be able to register it again in the future.

  Hi Jeremey! Thanks for answering me! Can I make only one more question before I decide what to do? If I wait until my upgrade expires, will the domain be canceled automatically (and then I can delete the blog too)? I just disabled the auto-renew.

  Hey Raquel,

  The domain will remain on your account until it is either transferred to another account, removed, or it expires. After the domain expires, it will eventually be removed from your account after a period of time (usually 50-60 days). You can wait till it expires and is removed automatically or I can remove it for you immediately. Please note, once a domain is removed, it’s sent back to the registrar and you may not be able to register it again in the future. Let me know how you want to move forward!
