  Hi, I tried to upgrade my free plan with a .blog-domain. wp suggests several interesting .blog options, however, whenever I try to buy the domain, the system says the respective domain is taken. I have tried with three different names – what’s wrong? Thanks for your ideas.

  If you are being told that those domains have been taken than it is likely that somebody else has purchased them already.

  Perhaps try visiting the domain in question with your web browser first?

  i did. they are free both in the web broser (aka no match) and via other registrars… plus it is wordpress itself that keeps suggesting them. :/

  Hi there,

  Can you please tell me the domains you’re trying to register, and I can check for you.

  Please keep in mind that a lot of registrars are all trying to register .blog domains at the same time at this point, and once a domain is taken it might not show as unavailable immediately, so it is possible a domain could still show as available if it was registered very recently somewhere else.
