Blog entries don’t print properly

  • Unknown's avatar

I tried printing one of my entries – the first page get cut off (it overflows the margins) and then there is an empty second page. I’ve tried Aardvarking the non-relevant sections away and the same thing happens.

Is there a print-friendly version of each post available?

There’s a plug in called Wp-Print which would do it. You would need to be on your own host though for you to use it. That’s not something that’s included in the standard WP software.

Can’t this be included in WP.COM? And besides, why would WordPress need a <i>plugin</i> for something that should be a basic function?

Might this be solved with printer-friendly stylesheets? I’ve been slowly converting a Typo theme for wordpress and that has a print.css, though I don’t recall ever seeing one in a wordpress theme.

It would probably be a lot of work to add new stylesheets for every theme, though, and I doubt it would be a widely-used feature.

If you would like to contribute to the development of WordPress, feel free to see this page. Please kindly remember that your have been giving a blog and hosting for free. If you don’t like that, I politely suggest that you may want to try another platform or try writing your own code.
