Blog entries failing to share to fb and twitter when scheduled

Posts to wordpress that are scheduled for a later date are NOT being shared to facebook and twitter when they post to my blog. In fact, they will not post until I go back to my blog as if I were a visitor, at which point they suddenly pop up on social media sites as if they had just been posted.
This completely defeats the purpose — I may as well go and post the url’s manually at this point.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Scheduled posts do not actually publish until the first visitor to the blog clicks into the blog after the scheduled time.

If accurate, not only does this defeat the whole point of scheduling anything, what’s the point of “sharing” anything if I have to wait for someone to go to the site in first place. <i>They’re already there.</i>
That’s the dumbest catch 22 I’ve heard in a long time…

I am a Volunteer. I reported how the scheduled posts feature is coded to operate and that’s all I have to say on this issue.

Hey, not your fault it’s stupid.
I may have to rethink this wordpress thing. “Hey kids! Share your stuff to get visitors! You just need visitors first before it will share!” Idiotic.
