Blog entry

I have a few questions regarding the newsfeed, traffic, blog entries and geographical restrictions.
My website is in Danish, but I have the translate widget, so visitors from different countries can read the contents. My tags on my blog entries are both in Danish and English.
Why is it that when I search for tags I´ve just used I get the message that my language wont allow me to search for the tags. It appears as if my visitors haven´t seen my posts from WordPress itself, but are referred from facebook or instagram instead. Why is that? Is it because I write in Danish, so it´s only people from Denmark, who can see my posts? And vice versa if I write in English people can´t search for my entries in Danish?

Another thing I´m confused about is that when I search for a tag I used in a recent post, my entry doesn´t appear in the newsfeed on WordPress, but entries dating back from July are showing up. Why is that?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello @vinassistenten,

You may find the answer from this link.

Your blog’s language does not match your account’s interface language. There are two language settings at WordPress.com: your blog language and interface language. You will only see posts on tag pages from blogs with a blog language that matches your account’s interface language. Here you can find a list of languages we support on WordPress.com.

I really hope this gets sorted out.

    Regards,
    Rose

Thank you for The answer. But both my language settings are set on english, but I can not even find my own profil and post by searching on name or tags i have used? The link you send. I have checked it All…?

  • Hi, @ vinassistenten!

The issue is that by having your site language set to English, but writing in Danish, you’re confusing the system — if you look for all posts that are tagged ‘frankrig’, your site does come up, but because that word doesn’t mean anything in English, it’s seen as irrelevant, which prevents it from showing up in the search results. (Additionally, this setting is making the Google Translate widget think it’s translating English to another language, so the translation doesn’t actually work!)

If you change your site language to Danish, it should fix these problems for you, and you should be good to go.

    I hope that helps!
