Blog erasing everything I write
-
Whomever it may concern,
For the last 2 weeks, every time I try to post any piece of text longer than 50 words with a photo, WordPress erases all my text. This happens every time I click “save draft” or “publish”. It does not erase the titles or the tags.
http://ethnisual.wordpress.com/ – is my blog
The previous posts will prove that I do know how to operate WordPress’ interface, and the problem is not my incompetency.
Note: the posts are not erased later (as if by somebody hacking my blog), but at the very moment I try to publish it, which makes me think it is a technical error. The text not only does not appear on the blog, but it is erased from the publisher as well.
Best,

Hi Lulia,
I don’t doubt your abilities in the least!
I’ve created a draft post here: https://ethnisual.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=339&action=edit&message=10
Can you try making an edit to this post and then clicking “Save draft” to see what happens?
I am looking at your revision record here for the post you were struggling with:
https://ethnisual.wordpress.com/wp-admin/revision.php?action=diff&post_type=post&right=55&left=310And I don’t see any saved record of the text at all. We’ve had scattered reports of a similar thing happening, so again, I don’t think it’s you – but this is an interesting piece of the puzzle.
Have you been able to start a new post to replace that old post, or have you been editing the same post continually? Where do you compose your posts (do you write them in Word first, or directly in the editor, is what I mean)?
Thanks for the testing and the clarification!

Hi!
Sorry for my general surliness in the initial post. When I submitted this question to the forum, I got the following page:
“About this Topic
Started 43 years ago by Anonymous
This topic has posts”I’m getting the feeling that WordPress is fucking with me.
Please excuse my language.I’ve tried updating the draft, and saved it, and everything has disappeared again (for me at least).
Regarding the post that I initially had problems with, the revisions of it maintained 3 paragraphs and a photo (out of several more), but when I tried restoring one of the revisions, the text disappeared completely again, and this time for good – in all the revisions.
I have tried starting new posts. Each time, I have the same problem. Initially, I would write all my posts directly in the editor, but when it started erasing them, I also tried copy/pasting it from Word. Same problem every time.
I hope this can be solved some way :(

Thank you for all the additional information! This should be really helpful.
Can you do me one more favor, and take a screenshot of the Editor screen? I’d like to see one where you’re composing a post and you can see the text, and then one right after you hit “update” (or “publish”) and it disappears – and if you could include the URL bar at the top in the screenshot?
Here’s a bit more information about how to take a screenshot:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/You can save them to your media gallery, and I can look there.
Another thing I’m going to want to check is the Javascript console – you can access this in Firefox by using the Firebug (Tools > Web Developer > Firebug > Open Firebug), select “console” and “errors” before you begin making a post, and once you click “publish” see if any errors pop up. You can use your webpage as usual with Firebug open!
Thank you so, so much – any of this information that you can pull up (since I’m not able to get it to happen to me) will help us target and fix this.

Hey!
Sorry for the late reply. I did all you asked and uploaded the print screens to the media gallery (I apologize for the double posting of the images; I tried deleting the extras but it didn’t work). I’ve also uploaded a print screen of all the errors that appeared in the error console after I hit Save as Draft. Actually, those aren’t all the errors. Sadly, my 13 inch laptop screen couldn’t see them all without scrolling, but they were all in the same line as the ones in the image.
Have a nice day!

Hi there,
No need to apologize for any delay!
Thank you for providing the additional information! If you don’t mind I’m going to ask you for a few additional things as we try to work through this.
First, could you please give us the exact steps that you take as you try to make a post on your blog? Every single one from opening your browser (including which browser) through to what address you go to, what buttons you click, etc (especially if you ever click the “back” button). Your flow might give us a hint as to what is going on.
Second, could you try clearing your cache and cookies and going through this again? I know you might have already but it would be great if you would give it a try again. Here’s how you do it:
Third, from your screenshots it looks like you’ve got some browser extensions running. Could you try disabling them? Just to see if they’re causing some issues.
Fourth, you mentioned that you are copy/pasting from word. Word actually causes some problems, so if you’re doing that could you make sure that you’re only pasting content from Word using the tool that we talk about here:
I know that I’ve mentioned a lot here but we’re really interested in hunting down this issue! Thanks for all of your help!
