Blog export – what's left?

    I want to get rid of all the content on my blog (but not delete it for good, just move it somewhere else) and then start writing from scratch again, but preferably keeping the same blog name and followers.

    If I export the content of my blog, will I keep the name/URL of the blog and it’s followers?

    If you wish you can simply export all the content from your blog. This can be done in your dashboard -> tools -> export. You will still be able to keep the name/url of your blog.

    And then go to this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

    follow the instructions listed to delete the desired content from your site.

    Yes, an XML export file is a COPY of the content. It’s not the original content itself.
