Blog & Facebook?

I think this wordpress is WAY too difficult for one who wishes to simply, ‘Write, post and be DONE’. I signed up to wordpress.com for a simple blog to share with my fans on my business page of FB. I guess there is no App (meaning icon) where WP can be seen as an icon on my FB? The app wordpress.com doesn’t work.

When it become this much of a chore to write..it’s time to move on. I just would like to know if WP can even be used as an app for ones FB business page?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We have no control over which images Facebook chooes to display. Have you read this?

Only the first five images uploaded to a post (direct inclusion/gallery/slideshow) will be sent to Facebook. The images size has to be at least 200 x 200 pixels.

To select which image will be used for things like Facebook Publicize, you can use a theme that supports featured images. If a featured image isn’t set or your theme doesn’t use featured images, then the code tries to pick the first image in the post or page. If no image is found, then the blavatar is used. http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#troubleshooting

Thank you. So WP can be used with my ‘Fan’ page? I haven’t done a blog yet, but when I do, will the publicize option pop up? I’m such a newb and maybe WP wasn’t the correct start.

    Thanks

    Hi again,
We Volunteers rely on those we try to help to read documentation because we don’t have the time or inclinatiopn to retype it.
The Facebook like box found here > Appearance > Widgets is for Facebook fan pages.

If you would like to Publicize your posts to your Facebook page, instead of your Facebook profile, click on the “Set Options” link underneath Facebook on your Settings > Sharing page. You will need to connect your blog to Facebook first. You will need to use a Facebook account that has a Profile with administrative rights to the Page. Note: A Page-only account can not be used with Publicize. The Facebook account must have a profile. http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#facebook-pages

For Facebook integration see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/
    Hope this helps.

    eclecticfreebird,
I think facebook and wordpress blog are two different marketing strategy, where the facebook is more toward trend and social. Blog is more toward information sharing. If your business do need knowledge or heavy information sharing (eg: procedure, steps, latest and greatest, know-how), then it might applicable. If not, why you need to duplicate the content to 2 different places?

It’s not something I’d consider difficult, to post your blog posts to Facebook, but then different people have different definitions of “difficult.” It is routinely done by millions of people every day following the instructions TT has linked above.
