Blog feeds causing a problem

  I am reading my blog feeds into another web application. The problem is that all entries start with the
  tag in the content of each post. This throws off how everything lines up. Why is the
  tag there and is there a way I can get it out of my feed when my entry does not contain that tag at the beginning?
