Blog FOLLOW widget {for subscribers to FOLLOW your / my blog.}

  I noticed when I originally put the FOLLOW widget on my blog that it registered a lot of followers, before I even published anything. Then after a while it was showing, what I presumed to be, the real number of followers {having already launched my blog}. Up until Sunday, it was showing 54 FOLLOWERS. Then, yesterday, that number suddenly dropped to 12 FOLLOWERS. I’m confused. Is the number registering for FOLLOWERS an accurante number, or is it glitchy and subject to jump around willy-nilly?

  The total usually includes whomever is following you on any services that you Publicize to, like Facebook and Twitter, but it looks like those connections are broken now.
