Blog Format

    I’m having a bit of difficulty customizing the blog format, on my blog it shows the homepage and then the blog page. On the blog page it shows the top image, a quote from the post, and then the whole post text underneath it. I was wondering if there was a way to hide the text in the post, as that’s the whole reason the quote is on top. I don’t like how it shows the whole text on each post.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Affinity is intentionally designed to show both, as an intro to your posts. The Affinity info page describes it like this:

    Affinity has a small but nifty intro feature. Also known as a “deck” or “kicker,” the intro area is displayed between the headline and body copy on posts. Your intro provides important information and acts as a link between the title and the rest of your post. A carefully crafted deck grabs readers’ attention, giving them an idea of what to expect in the full post.

    Hiding the body of the post, and leaving just the intro/quote part would require a bit of Custom CSS, under a Premium Plan or Business Plan.

    With that, you could use this snippet to hide the post body:

    .blog .entry-content {
       display: none;
    }

    Let me know how it works if you give it a try :)

    Thank you, that did in fact make it appear the way I wanted it to. However seeing as I have neither a premium or business plan, is there another theme that could provide the same effect/appearance?

  • There are other themes that display excerpts of your post:

    But the appearance will be different that that of Affinity.

    Pique is another scroller style theme that you might like :)
