Blog Homepage Layout
-
Currently I have my homepage set to show most recent blog posts (not a static homepage) but it shows the WHOLE article of each post. Is there a way to shrink the amount of space it takes up on my homepage so that it only shows the first few lines of my post and then you have to click it to read the whole thing?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Yes, that can be done easily, but the options available depend upon the theme you are using. Which theme is activated on the site?

Hi @thereimergroup!
It looks like thereimergroupblog.wordpress.com is currently using the Penscratch theme, which supports Excerpts in its Content Options settings.
Click on My Site > Customize and open the Content Options panel. You can then select ‘Post excerpt’ instead of ‘Full post’ :)

Thank you, chad1008! I knew it was likely an easy fix, I’m just still navigating my way around! :)
Appreciate the help!! -

Hi! Can this be done on Truly Minimal theme? I wanted to shrink articles on my homepage, too, and just display excerpts. Thanks in advance!

Uploaded blog posts but i would like to rearrange them so that they are in a specific order. Is there any way i can arrange them in a different order without having to go back and upload them all again?

Truly Minimal does not have the excerpts option described by chad1008, but you may use the More tag on any WordPress.com theme to truncate posts on the blog page.

Yes, that’s possible, but your support request is unrelated to the present topic. Please start a new topic, here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1.

Currently I have my homepage set to show most recent blog posts (not a static homepage), but the top part is now black, instead to show the last post. It was fine yesterday, what happen?

Hi @ipiatti!
This is a thread specifially related to displaying excerpts instead of full posts on the home page. Would you mind opening a new thread for your question about your header issue? Thanks! :)
