blog is messing up

hello, my blog is not acting like it should. i deleted my menu . i am still going to do one but the reason i deleted the menu was because i wanted to delete 2 categories, i was able to delete one but when i tried to delete the 2nd one it would not let me & it is selecting this categories for all my posts. i tried to click on other categories for a posts but it would always go back to depression, insomnia…….category.
i did a disk clean & a defrag on my computer hoping this would clear it up last night, but it did not help. so please help. rita johnston

Defragging your computer is not necessary. What IS necessary is selecting a new default category before you try to delete that category.

well what i did, i did create other categories, after the fact. when i’m in the post i unclick the old category & click on a new category, then i update. but it clicks back on the old category. and in my ‘menu’ there are little boxes in front of all the new categories except for the one i do not want. hovering over that category does not show me a delete choice like the other ones do. i can not even delete it now. so what do i do !!!!???!!!???

Not creating other categories. Creating them, attaching them to posts, and then going to Settings->Writing and selecting one of them to be your default theme.
You can’t delete your default category, so you have to switch your default to a different category before trying to delete the first.
