Blog is screwily updating Twitter MANY times for one post

I’ll write a blog post and it’s supposed to send ONE update to Twitter which is supposed to then update my Facebook.
Instead, it’s not only sending MULTIPLE (not just 2 or 3, I’m talking 15) updates to Twitter…but it also is taking the headline and reposting it back to the blog.
For example:
My post entitled “Introconverted? An extrovert on the path to becoming introverted.” will instead show up like this, “Introconverted? An extrovert on Introconverted? An extrovert on Introconverted?”….times 15. And not only on Twitter, but it also re-posts to my wordpress like this.
I obviously crossed some wires but I have NO IDEA how to uncross them without starting from scratch and I’d rather not if someone has seen this before and can help.

We have no idea how to help you, because your username is linked (incorrectly) to your Twitter account. We have no idea what your blog is, and can’t help you until you change that link.

http://twitter.com/bevillanoShe’s using Hootsuite andWordPress.com’s publicize on Twitter with a total of 4 pings to Twitter for each new post. What a mess!
I’m not sure (yet) how using Hootsuite affects the WordPress.com publicize on Twitter feature. Maybe turn off the publicize feature and see if that corrects the problem.

Now that publicization is so advanced, NEVER use all your options or you will annoy your dedicated readers.

I didn’t realize that’s what would happen. I just use Hootsuite for the consolidation of accounts. I’ve turned off the WordPress publicize for Twitter and I’ll see what happens.
