Blog Issues
-
I created a blog page on my site. It looks fine when I look at it through my account.
I have seen it look fine when logged into my account and bring up.
But if I go to my page directly, I get an error message.
What’s missing?
Thanks!
Sue

Good Morning Sue –
It looks like you may have figured this out. I don’t see an error message. Let me know.
-
All weekend and this morning.
Here was the message:
https://beginwithaquestion.com/?page_id=6
Oops! That page can’t be found.
It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?
Thanks!

The address you’re using doesn’t exist.
From what I can see, you have not set up which page will display your blog posts, to do that, please go to My Site>Design>Customize>Homepage Settings and set the page Blog to display your recent posts:

I followed every step of your directions. The page looked wonderful for 24 hours. And now, it’s back to oops . . .
Just can’t figure out where the bug is.

Ah, did you set the blog page to Draft mode? It won’t work as a draft. You can change that again here:
https://wordpress.com/pages/drafts -

It did the trick until it didn’t.

Maybe I need hand holding via phone to fix this?
-
That particular page is a draft again; did you mean https://beginwithaquestion.com/blog/ ?
You shouldn’t have to link to page IDs either, by the way.

Okay.
When I type in beginwithaquestion.com I land on the About page.
When I click on Blog from the About page, that’s when I get this:
https://beginwithaquestion.com/?page_id=6
And the message reading oops.
When I erased the tail end of that URL and wrote blog as in
https://beginwithaquestion.com/blog
The blog came up.
So now what do I have to fix?
(And thank you for your patience with me!)

You don’t need to do anything else if this is the setup you wanted.
In general, when you want to add a page to your menu, you would choose it from the list, no need to use the Custom URL option. That way you avoid typos that could make the link unavailable.Have a look at this page:
https://wordpress.com/support/menus/#add-menu-items
I hope that helps :)

Let me reword the problem.
When you type in my URL: beginwithaquestion.com you land on the About page.
From that page, if you click the Blog tab you get an error message. Why is that? How do I fix it so from the About page one can click on the Blog page and get the Blog page and not an error message???
-
Hmm. I don’t see an error message at https://beginwithaquestion.com/?page_id=6 I see the list of blog posts.
