Blog just expired – doesn't recognize login, can't reset password
-
Hi,
I’m writing on behalf of my wife, whose blog (outsiderstatus.com) expired on June 26th after the expiration notice email got sent to her spam folder. Now she’s trying to recover her blog, but none of the support functions are working. She can’t remember her password, so attempted a password recovery, but it doesn’t recognize her account email (despite it being the email address they sent all wordpress correspondence to). The account recovery page says “we cannot find an account that matches your login” despite giving them the transaction id and the email address she bought the domain name with. There doesn’t seem to be any routes left.
I suppose the first question is: can she recover the writing on the blog after it’s expired for a week? And if so, what is her next step to try to access the blog?
Thanks to anyone who can help, cheers

Hi there,
I suppose the first question is: can she recover the writing on the blog after it’s expired for a week?
The content of the site is perfectly fine. Once the domain completes the expiration process the site will simply go back to using the free address with which it was originally created, outsiderstatusdotcom.wordpress.com
And if so, what is her next step to try to access the blog?
The only way to access the site is a password reset or an account recovery.
I notice that the domain contact email address and the account email address are not the same. Have you tried the password reset with all email addresses that your wife owns?
The other option is the account recovery form. There you will need to provide some other form of verification. The easiest will be the PayPal transaction ID that appears on the receipt from the last time you renewed the domain. That ID can also be obtained directly from PayPal as they handle all our payments, so you can get it from them even if you don’t have a PayPal account.
