Blog 'Like' and 'Comment' function not working with Cubic Theme
-
When viewers of my WordPress blog (Cubic theme) try to like or comment on it, a ‘Register for WordPress’ page comes up, EVEN THOUGH, in the settings and for each blog post, I have set ‘Allow people to post comments’ to ON and ‘Users must be registered and logged in’ to OFF. How can this bug be fixed before people lose interest in my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The functions you refer to are not theme related.
re: like button use
Just like any other place with a like button, for example, Facebook, one has to register a username account and be logged in to be able to use it. All that’s required to register a WordPress.COM/gravatar account is a valid email address. https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/This page > Settings > Discussion is where you set up defaults for comments.

Other comment settings
_Comment author must fill out name and e-mail
_Users must be registered and logged in to commentNote that the prompt will still appear but providing an email address and logging in are not required. There is no way for us bloggers to remove the prompt. It’s up to us to post instructions if we wish to tell the world that the blog comments can comment anonymously.
Frankly, there’s no way I would ever set up anonymous commenting on my blogs because I’m aware that (1) the vast and overwhelming majority of all information on the internet is spam; and (2) that over 80% of the so-called comments submitted to free hosted WordPress.com blog every day are spam.
