UPDATE:
I have tried accessing my blog on a PC at work which has not had Flash updated and it seems to work fine across the whole blogsite…I hope this provides a bit more info for those ‘gurus’ who (hopefully) are looking into this issue

Problems seem even worse now. Mine was fine at work; now even this forum keeps disappearing. Can’t get to my dashboard. Still getting the error messages.

If whitelisting us or disabling Adblock did not for you, please try enabling HTTPS to see if that makes a difference: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Thank you but as my post above stated I do not use Adblock.
Have enabled HTTPS – took several attempts as kept getting error messages.
Not sure how this will make a difference, -

Aargh! Just got another error message – can’t load one of my other blogs,

Are you running any anti-virus or web security firewalls/software? If so, would you please try with those temporarily disabled?

I don’t know if this is related, but given the timing I’d be surprised if it wasn’t.
I’ve noticed that when it fails when I’m visiting other blogs, the url in my address bar changes to
r-loginplus some other terms. Then, often, when I try again, I find that when the page finally loads, I’m not shown there as being logged in to my WP account. -
That’s just the remote login script to make sure that you stay logged in to WordPress.com.
It’s been around for quite a while, so it shouldn’t make much of a difference.

I have been having the same problem all day the server-problem message keeps coming up when I try to get onto my other blog or try to do anything on my blog.

Are you currently using AdBlock?
If so, would you please report that AdBlock is interfering with our website https://adblockplus.org/en/getting_started and try to whitelist us https://adblockplus.org/en/faq_basics#disable ?

So, you tried both disabling AdBlock and switching to HTTPS?
I only ask because HTTPS is still disabled on your account.
