Blog Loading Time

I checked my blog loading time through a few online tools inicluding “Stop Watch” and found that my blog on Word Press.Com, “The American Liberal Journal” takes somewhere around 13 seconds to load. My other blog on another platform takes 1.5 seconds to load. I think the 13 second load time may be too long for some potential visitors to the blog to wait….what does anyone else thing about that? What can I do to reduce the load time on the Word Press.Com blog or is it even something that I should be concerned with? I am not all that tech saavy. It just seemed to be a long load time and I have heard that isn’t a good thing.

I’ve noticed this with my blog. The theme I use is Adventure Journal and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. It has always been filled with photos (but shrank for web use) so possibly slower loading than many sites, but I notice the theme loading terribly slow. And when the theme loads slowly, the text is not even visible.

The reason I came to the forum today is to see why my visitors have dropped quite a bit the last several days, if there is a known issue. I was thrilled when I reached my busiest day the 9th, but now I am getting around 20 page loads a day. Is it related? I don’t know…. I use Google’s webmaster tools and nothing seems out of the ordinary there.
