blog looks weird when using new address
-
My blog trunkguy.wordpress.com has been using trunkguy.com to get to it
I have purchased a new domain thingsilikeandthenrun.com pointing to the WordPress address
Sadly in iOS the blog does not render properly using the new domain
I have tried and looked at the settings at my domain host and things are the same for both domains but only the trunkguy.com and trunkguy.wordpress.com versions of the site look display correctly on iOS
Any idea what could be the problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve tried changing the theme to see if this help but again trunkguy.com renders correctly and thingsilikeandthen.com does not :(

The settings on your thingsilikeandthen.com domain are set to show the site within an frameset. This may be the issue, and you may want to try changing it. Depending on your host, this could be a setting that deals with “Domain masking” (turned on right now, try turning it off to see if that makes a difference).

Thank you
Any ideas where I may find that – don’t seem to have such an option within my DNS settings etc..?
-
Totally depends on your domain registrar — you may want to contact them. Ascio I believe?

forward and mask have problems as you just figured out – much better to use domain mapping
-
I have it set as follows
Do you want to redirect to another website?
Forward http://www.thingsilikeandthenrun.com and thingsilikeandthenrun.com to this website:
Redirect to one of your add-on domains
SELECTED Redirect to external websiteAddress https://trunkguy.wordpress.com
NOT SELECTED Display thingsilikeandthenrun.com as URL in the browser’s address bar.
-
This is the preferred method: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
-
Is there a way I can find the IP Address of my wordpress URL
One.com seem to think this would help – not sure how -
So I own two domains
The original redirects and has done with no problem
The new one does not work it forces and iFrame and I don’t know whyAnd paying wordpress to register my domain with them will solve the problem?

Hi there! As auxclass mentioned, the best way to connect your domain to your site is through domain mapping as he linked. Since your domain isn’t controlled by us and doesn’t have WordPress.com name servers, we can’t control how it handles the redirect.
The best way to resolve this is to purchase a Domain Mapping upgrade and set your name servers to these:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Let me know if you have questions about this!
