Blog lost

  Hi! I had a wordpress blog attached to a website. I purposefully let my website lapse, since I shut down the business, but I (stupidly) assumed my blog would just default to the free one it had been. Is it lost completely?

  If the blog was here at WordPress.com then yes it would still exist in some form if you downgraded. But not if it was hosted elsewhere. What is the full address of the blog in question.

  Hi there!

  I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.

  As @themagicrobot mentioned, if your site was hosted on WordPress.com, it would have just downgraded to free. In this case, you will want to reach out directly to GoDaddy to see if it’s possible to restore your site.
