Blog lost all new content since yesterday
-
Sometime over the last 8 hours, my blog has lost all new content, including blog posts, comments and uploaded media, as well as changes to widgets and other customisations. The stats have also been erased. It looks like it’s been reset to the state it was on December 27, before I posted a long article it took me most of the day to write.
Can anything be done to restore everything?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is just the beginning of the weirdness. In the WordPress.com Reader, under My Activity, I can see yesterday’s blog post and both comments. I can even click on the post heading there and read the post.
Also, the same blog – same title, same address – is listed twice under My Blogs. Is it getting confused?
-
Never mind, I’ve reposted the entry. Still can’t work out why WordPress would have wiped all yesterday’s changes.
-
Regardless, I’m going to go ahead and tag this to have Staff take a look at your site history. Perhaps they can give you more info. Since they are currently away until January 2, please be patient while waiting.

My blog is having similar issues – I have been emailed that I have likes on a post I made yesterday, and notifications tell me I had views, so people must be able to see my post. But if I click to stats there is no activity reported until back to Dec 14. …?

Update: My post from the 28th, along with all the comments, media and customisations, is back online. The repost I did today (29th) has gone, along with the likes it generated. What a mess.

@jsatellite
I know you are concerned but this is likely to be a synching between servers issue ie. the content has not been lost and will appear when Staff address this issue. -
Hi John – Something weird happened here. I made an adjustment to your account, and I’m hoping this has fixed things, but unfortunately, I don’t think it’s possible to recover your missing repost.
Can you please provide more information about how you posted that one? For example, was it from the post editor here:
http://wordpress.com/post/Or from the classic Dashboard here:
https://thatjohnchapman.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpI’m very sorry for the trouble!
-
@ngaioshort It’s possible for people to like your posts from the Reader without actually visiting your site, so your stats won’t necessarily match.
-
@timethief – sorry it’s my other blog linked on this account – eatamazing.wordpress.com. From the dashboard the stats now appear and it no longer says ‘stats for this period are not available’ or whatever it was.
@eurello – thanks, I didn’t know that – not a big user as is probably obvious :) -
@eurello – Thank you. Whatever you did, the issues seem to have been fixed. I’m happy having the original post back, so no need to try and retrieve the second version (both were posted via the classic dashboard).
@timethief – Thanks for letting me know help was on the way.
-
@jsatellite- you’re welcome from me. Glad Staff could see what went wrong with the underpinnings of your site. Best wishes for future uneventful blogging and a happy new year. :)

Spoke too soon. The repost from the 29th is currently online, plus I cannot log into the dashboard. The following message is displayed:
“User jsatellite Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested”
I tried signing out and clearing my cache before signing in again, to no avail.

Hi John – So sorry about that. Can you please try once more and let me know if you can get in now?

I am having an identical issue to you. I started my blog today and made to post and several adjustment. I was working on my blog and clicked to view it and then Poof! everything was gone. It kept telling me Not found and to search for it. However, in the Reader, I could see the two post that I had made and view them in full length. Its like everything reset or something. After they fixed your issue, did everything seem to go ok?
-
I’m also having the same issue on my blog http://twistyphotoproject.wordpress.com/
I just created it yesterday and made two posts, but today both the posts have disappeared and the theme etc. changes I had made have also been reset to default.
@eurello – any chance you could have a look for me? -
@furbabiesphoto – You should be all set now, sorry about that.
@twisty86 – It looks like Rachel fixed this up for you in another thread. Are you all set now?
