Blog meta tag for facebook linking to incorrect url

    I don’t know if the subject makes any sense. I haven’t been doing this for long. Here’s the problem.

    So I’m trying to link a comic from my wordpress.com blog to facebook but it’s not grabbing the image for the thumbnail correctly. It’s worked with every comic so far (though I didn’t check all of them) and I didn’t upload it any differently than before. When I ran the facebook debugger it gave me this:

    <meta property=”og:image” content=”https://s0.wp.com/i/blank.jpg” />

    Not as an error. It thinks that’s the correct link for the image. The link it should be using is:

    I need to be able to post these comics to facebook. I think my sister found a temporary workaround but I’d like to know how to fix this.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there, Bear,

    In your most recent post, http://random-encounterz.com/comic/interracial-civilization-5-part-2, you have added the image/comic to the page as a Featured Image, but in all of your previous posts that I checked you added them into the Page Content. Facebook sharing is working for all of those other posts, so I’d recommend doing that from here on out.

    The issue is something on Facebook’s side. When I look at the source code for the blog post in question, the image URL for the og:image meta tag is http://randomencounterzdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/gundam-civ1.jpg?w=600. Not sure why Facebook wouldn’t be recognizing it, but that seems to be the case.

    At any rate, it should be a simple fix. In your blog post, just bypass the Featured Images and add the comic directly into Page Content.

    Best of luck!
