Blog Move with Subscriptions
-
Hi,
We own two blog addresses on wordpress.com, and we would like to move all the contents from our current blog A to the another wordpress.com blog address, B. I found the article on http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/ that shows the how-to but, nothings was mentioned about moving all the active and email subscriptions of my blog. Will I lose all the active and email subscriptions to my blog after transfer/move to another wordpress.com blog site?
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please do not post the same question twice. If you have more details about this issue, add them to this thread.

I apologize, but the two seemed extremely closely related. I’m a fellow blogger (volunteer moderator) and can not restore your question. It did sound as if it was very much like this question.
As far as I know, comments can be exported and imported, but stats and subscribers can not.

Thanks for the quick reply.
How about if I use the “change wordpress blog address”, instead of “export and import”, will I still loose my email subscribers?
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Do you mean domain mapping, a paid upgrade?

I’m a bit confused about the blog you are asking about. The site linked to your name:
http://keiroservices.wordpress.com/
appears to be an empty blog (except for a link to some sort of sudoku site) which was started almost a year ago. Please, what is the link to the blog you are asking about:
http:// and so on… -
Sorry, let me give you more details…
our blog is http://www.genkiwoman.wordprocess.com and we want to move everything here to http://www.genkiliving.wordprocess.com. (a new and empty blog)
We have two options:
1. We can export and import all contents from genkiwoman and import them into genkiliving, since we own both wordprocess.com addresses.
or
2. Unregister genkiliving from our account and do a name change under genkiwoman to a new name, which will be genkiliving, the one we just un registered.
Either way, we must keep our all of our current email subscriptions. But, according to your rely, option one doesn’t include email subscriptions, only comments and posts. So, I am wondering if option 2 would keep all email subscriptions and not loosing them.
Thanks

I’ve exported and imported blogs, but was never especially concerned (noticed) about the subscriber issue on any of them, so I can’t claim to offer solid advice.
Option 2 is only what I found in the support documents. Wish that I could be more useful with advise. I’m currently working on a blog where I think they do want to import subscribers (from a non-WordPress .com nor .org site.) so I just began looking into this issue.
Let’s hope another volunteer can tell you / us the answer.
Failing that, you should contact staff on Monday when they re-open. I’ll leave the modlook on this thread in case an official type person sees it in the meantime.
