Hi! I’m trying to set up a new blog. I plan to use freeinflight.wordpress.com. But when I do, the option would say freeinflightblog.wordpress.com. Basically, I don’t want the word ‘blog’ in my domain name. I was looking for another option, that is to use upgrade to freeinflight.com. However, it turns out that my blog name will be freeinflightdotcom.wordpress.com when I chose that name. Can you help me? Can I still use freeinflight.wordpress.com since I am still starting? Hope you can help me.

You should be able to go to this URL > Hover over the blog address that you wish to change > Click “Change Blog Address “, and see if you can change the blog address:
https://<your_website_url>/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs
(Remember to replace <your_website_url> with the actual URL, e.g. freeinflightblog.wordpress.com)
If the name you wished to change to is available, then you should be able to change it.

Hello!
When testing the freeflight.wordpress.com site, it says “The address freeinflight.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved!”. That’s why WordPress.com is suggesting the other name.. it’s just a suggestion though.
Not sure why it’s reserved but reserved it is!

Thank you for helping me out on this. I tried changing the name but it really is reserved. Is there any way to contact Support for this? I am willing to buy the freeinflight.com instead just so I can have this blog name.

Buying freeinflight.com is available and will work!
Just follow the steps in this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
You will need to purchase the Personal plan as a minimum, but it includes a free domain and hosting for 1 year.
