Blog name change = broken media library

    I just changed the name of my blog from bigenglish.wordpress.com to nicolemojan.wordpress.com to match the rest of my social media presence. But as soon as I made the name transfer, my entire media library and all images uploaded into blog posts bombed out because they’re sourcing the bigenglish.wordpress.com library, which is no longer accessible.

    Ex: file URL is https://bigenglish.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/wake-up1.jpg, but since bigenglish has been deactived, the image URL is broken in the blog post.

    Any ideas on how to sync the media library URLs to reflect the location?

    Hi there. I looked at a few random posts from your archives and see no broken image links. All the images are displaying and referencing your new URL as the source. It could be that your browser is still trying to fetch images from the cache.

    Try clearing your browser cache and check again. If you still see missing images, please provide links to a couple of posts where images are missing.

    Thanks kokkieh! Cleared my cache as you suggested and tried on a different computer, still seeing broken images on every post prior to 8/21/13 (I manually swapped out the featured image on the most recent posts so at least the front page of entries wouldn’t show errors, that may be why you’re seeing images load properly)

    Thanks for the screenshot. However, direct links to the posts will work better to try and track down the error, as the screenshot does not allow one to check the actual link. Please provide one or two direct links to posts as, since you’ve also in the interim changed your archive widget from dates to categories there’s no quick way to reach your older posts and I’m afraid I don’t have time to scroll through your entire blog until I find a post with a missing image.

    Can you also please specify, is this specifically happening with featured images, or with regular images you inserted inside posts as well?
