Blog name changing?

  Hello,
  how can I change the name from my blog http://www.trish0705.wordpress.com?
  It is still indexed from google, but the name trish0705 sounds not very well :-/

  Hi Anita – here’s the support page on changing your blog address:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  You need to keep in mind that when you change the address, all your old search engine results will be pointing to your old blog address until your site gets reindexed.

  If you do change your blog address, permalinks to your old address, including search engine results, will be broken unless you purchase a Site Redirect upgrade.

  I mean, the old search engine results will continue to point at your old address – they don’t get fixed by time. It will take some time for Google to index your new site location.

  Hello,

  thank you for your support. I´ve changed now the name in http://www.histaminintoleranzerfahrung.wordpress.com, the old one trish0705.wordpress.com is still alive- how is it now with the google indexing and douplicate content? Now I have it duplicate right?

  It looks like you were able to move your content to histaminintoleranzerfahrung, so there shouldn’t be a problem with duplicate content, but all the Google links to your old site will land people on your old trish0705 site.

  Google will start indexing your content on your new site, but you might want to put one post on the old trish0705 site letting people who land there know that they should now visit histaminintoleranzerfahrung.wordpress.com. Sort of a trail of bread crumbs for them!
