Blog name reserved but blog unavailable

I deleted my self-hosted blog and would like to use the same name for a new blog at wordpress. The name is still reserved and when I log in, I can see the blog name under My Blogs and can see links to posts and pages. When I click on any of the links relating to that blog, I get a message from my ISP saying that they could not find the site, because the links all go to the deleted website. None of the admin functions are available from the blog listing under My Blogs page at wordpress.com. How can I release the blog name so that I can use it again?

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.
If you have the matching username account https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/adriannebradley then you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered any blog to access it.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden

Thank you for the reply. I can see the blog when I log in, but I can’t do anything with it because all the links go to the deleted site, including the link to the admin panel for the blog.

If you go to https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/ under your teawithlizzie account, you should be given the opportunity to create teawithlizzie.wordpress.com (it should, in other words, auto-fill the blog address blank with your username to create a matching blog).
If that doesn’t work, please let me know, with a screenshot of any error message you might receive:

That’s very strange. I’m not sure why you got that error (I removed your screenshot since it had your email address in it). It could be that you had spaces after your name in the form – it looks like that in the screenshot anyway.
At any rate, I’ve created teawithlizzie.wordpress.com for you under the teawithlizzie username. You should now be able to start using it!
