Blog name taken

  Hi,

  I was trying to create a new blog under the name outrageousmarketing.wordpress.com but was prompted it was taken.

  Checked on outrageousmarketing.wordpress.com but the blog was not set up at all.

  Would it be possible to take over this blog name?

  No – there is no requirement to use a blog to keep the name active – if you want the name you can try contacting the blog owner and have them transfer the blog to you, you are on your own as WordPress.COM will not help for privacy reasons

  You can pick a different name or buy & map a custom domain name

  How do I find out who is the owner? I couldn’t find it.

  If there is not a contact form or comment form you are in a tough spot and need to put on a super detective hat – sorry don’t have much else for guidance – maybe the account shows up on the web someplace else

  You have to play detective. WordPress.com will not give you any clues. You may not be able to find them at all.
