Blog not connecting

    I cannot get into my blog because the page displays “WordPress took too long to respond.” My computer is working fine, internet fine, internet connection fine, but still nothing. I even tried accessing it through a VPN and that didn’t work either. I tried it on my phone, nothing. I’m extremely frustrated at how difficult word press makes technical support. No chat options. No phone number. No email. Just a worthless support forum, that as far as I see, doesn’t get responses from WordPress directly.

    Wordpress is free software, not a business as such. You’ve reached the support forum for free sites hosted at WordPress.com. Support is provided here for sites that are actually hosted here too. With a WordPress.com Premium plan or higher you have access to Livechat with members of staff.

    However sites hosted elsewhere that happen to use the wordpress software such as yours only get support if their host supplies support.
    Otherwise it is a matter of registering an account and asking for advice from the volunteers at

    Hi there,

    That error points to a problem somewhere between your browser and your hosting provider’s server. If a VPN or a different internet provider doesn’t help, that makes your host the most likely cause, so try contacting them directly for help.

    Note that while your site is connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin, your site is not hosted on our servers, so we have no control at all over how your site is connected to the web. That’s in control of your hosting provider, which appears to be Amazon Web Services, based on your domain’s IP address.

    This is the second site I’ve come across in the past hour that’s hosted by them, but that isn’t loading, so they could be having an outage of some kind on that end.
