blog not displaying new content
-
Hi,
I’ve been editing 2 pages with slideshows on my blog but every time I close my browser and go to the website to make sure it’s working, it reverts back to the previous content as if I hadn’t changed it. Each time I make changes, I update the slideshow gallery as well as the page. When I preview the page, it shows me the most recent content, but when I log out completely and visit the site it shows me the old content. I have checked that cookies are enabled in my browser and I’ve tried clearing the cache, but still every time I log out and go to view the site the old content is there. Is there somewhere else I should click to update or apply the changes I’m making? Or anything else I can try?
Thank you,
TracyThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see 31 photos in the slideshow on your site’s front page. I have no idea how many photos should be there or if it is the most recent iteration.
Could you maybe switch to the thumbnail Gallery instead of the slideshow to try and troubleshoot this?

Any further advice or help you can offer me? It’s still not displaying my updates. If not, can you recommend someone else to talk to?
Thank you,

Here is my guesses.
1. You did not update or publish the page before you “closed the browser.” (Why are you closing the browser? Just open a new tab with the front view of your site and switch between tabs. Saves time and energy.)
2. The browser cache needs to be cleared, which appears like you know what that is and I don’t have to explain it. Excellent.
3. Try another web browser. Open up Chrome or Firefox (NOT Internet Explorer) and go to your site and see if the content is there. If it is, it is a browser cache issue.
4. If the posts are not published, by closing out of the browser, you may be logging yourself out of WordPress and your site. This means that you can’t see posts that are not published until you log back in. This is a common mistake.
5. Another problem is to PREVIEW (with the button) an already published post. Look at the address in the web browser. If it features a NOUNCE with some numbers, that is a specific saved preview of the web page. Delete all the information at the end of the link to get back to the actual link to the web page and hit ENTER. See if you see the post then.
Here is a tip to help you work with this.
1. Open a tab with the Administration Screens.
2. Open a tab with the front page of the site.
3. If editing a published post, in the second tab go to that post and hit REFRESH in the browser to reload it to see changes.
4. If working on an unpublished post, SAVE AS DRAFT, then right click the VIEW POST button near the post title and select OPEN IN NEW TAB. This will open a new tab and show you the post. Make changes in the previous tab, SAVE AS DRAFT, then switch to the new tab and refresh/reload the web page to see changes.Hope that helps.
