Blog not displaying right account name
-
I recently transfer a domain from one wordpress account to another. I plan on just using one wordpress account from here on out. Unfortunately, the wordpress account I’m setting up for permanent use isn’t displaying the right account name. Currently it’s being displayed as “mrdakotayounger” and I’d like it to display the other account’s name “dakotayounger”.
I’m afraid if I do the “change name” I’ll loose the “dakotayounger” name for good. I’ve tried changing the email account and associating the account with a different Gravatar account but it doesn’t seem to change anything. Please help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
Currently, you’re writing in from the account mrdakotayounger. The blog associated with that account is mrdakotayounger.wordpress.com with the custom domain dakotayounger.me.
If I understand correctly, you would like to be using the username dakotayounger instead. Is that correct?
If so, I can transfer the blog mrdakotayounger.wordpress.com and the associated domain dakotayounger.me to that account (dakotayounger) so you can manage everything from that other login. Would that work?
-
I’m ok with that as long as the it transfers my followers and everything with it. I don’t really have a preference for either account except that the mrdakotayounger account has already begun to gain followers.
-
Your followers are attached to the site mrdakotayounger.wordpress.com so even if we were to move that site to a different user account, the followers would come along as well.
Please note, you don’t have to move your site at all. If you just want to have the appearance of the username dakotayounger on the account mrdakotayounger, you could change your display name:
The display name is like a mask that sits over your username. You can set it to whatever you would like, and readers will only see that display name.
However, if you would like to login with the username dakotayounger, we’ll need to transfer your site and domain.

I’m open to change the display name but when I started that process, it said I wouldn’t be able to get it back. This is important because the username “dakotayounger” is associated with the other account right now so if I change that account name to something else, I want to be sure I can then change “mrdakotayounger” to “dakotayounger” without having lost “dakotayounger” for ever.
Does that make sense?

Changing the actual username won’t be of use here. The reason being: Once you change a username, the former is lost forward. So, say you did the following:
1. Changed dakotayounger to dakotayounger1 or something similar
2. Tried to change mrdakotayounger to dakotayounger now that we’ve “freed” it up
You wouldn’t be able to do that as the username was already in use. Once you change a username, the previous username you’re changing from is gone forever.
Based on what you’re looking to do, I think the best answer is to transfer everything on your mrdakotayounger account to dakotayounger. That way, you’ll be able to manage everything from dakotayounger. Do you still have access to that login?

I can just transfer everything on the mrdakotayounger for you. This would include the following blogs:
mrdakotayounger.wordpress.com (Incl. Premium bundle and domain dakotayounger.me)
thedakotayounger.wordpress.com
goboon.wordpress.com
tryboon.wordpress.com
You would need to login to the dakotayounger account to access these sites after that time. Would you like me to move everything or just move the mrdakotayounger.wordpress.com and associated upgrades?

Done! All of your site and upgrades are now assigned to the dakotayounger account. You will need to login under that account to make any changes moving forward.
